Kohei Mori
Kohei Mori, MS, LCAT, MT-BC, is a board-certified music therapist and a licensed creative arts therapist in New York State. Born and raised in Japan, Kohei began his career in finance before transitioning to the field of therapy. He earned his Master’s degree in Music Psychotherapy from Molloy University in New York.
Kohei has extensive experience providing psychotherapy and trauma-focused treatment to adults in mental health clinics across Manhattan and Brooklyn. He has also worked with supportive housing programs in New York City, offering music psychotherapy to individuals in need of emotional support.
In 2024, Kohei returned to Japan, where he continues to practice psychotherapy, serving both local and international communities. His trauma-informed approach fosters a warm, nonjudgmental space for clients to navigate life challenges and struggles. Kohei incorporates creative outlets, such as music, to help clients access their inner resources and integrates evidence-based techniques like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to meet each client’s unique needs.
