Ching-Yun Chang
Ching-Yun is a post-graduate psychotherapist. She provides holistic and integrative therapeutic approach through integrating Multicultural, Person-Centered, Narrative, and Strength-Based therapies. She earned her Bachelor’s degree of Psychology and Masters in Counselor Education from University of Minnesota. She is currently living and working in Tokyo, Japan since 2023.
Ching-Yun’s therapeutic approach emphasizes on empowering the clients to build resilience and self-actualization so that they can develop their own self-healing strategy. She views therapy as an opportunity to better understand and embrace oneselves. She is committed to provide an open, genuine, secure, non-judgmental, and transparent environment for clients to explore and navigate their presenting concerns in life. She highly values the cultural differences among clients, being inclusive and respecting all identities.
She has worked with individuals (adolescence, adults), couples, and families who have mental health concerns regarding general depression, anxiety, bipolar, trauma, gender dysphoria, adjustment disorder/cultural adjustment, relationships, academic stress/burnout and many more. She is specialized in cultural-related identities, such as gender/sexuality, intersectionality, race/ethnicity, cross-cultural relationships, acculturation/enculturation, etc. She offers therapy in both Mandarin and English, creating a warmth and welcoming environment for those in needs of bilingual therapist.
